How it Works
The Sentire, LLC, has created a new System for people who want their doctors to make eye contact, not stare at a computer the whole time, and really listen.
The Sentire System works differently from any other Medicare or insurance-based system.
- The Medicare/Insurance company rules and regulations are why doctor’s visits have become so rushed and impersonal.
- You determine which issues you’d like your family physician to help you with.
- It could be any symptom, injury, or chronic disease.
- It could be about healthcare system questions, or even concerns about family members or other people close to you.
- Your bill for an office visit will be an itemized list for each issue addressed. Fees for each issue will generally run between $21 to $45, depending on whether the concern is new or old, and how long you and your doctor discussed the issue.
- You can also talk to your doctor by phone, email, or text message. The fee is $15 when you initiate the call, plus $7 per minute your doctor worked on your behalf.
- This is generally the amount of time you were on the phone with your doctor, or the time he or she spent reading and responding to typed messages (net time).
- You will usually be billed immediately after the issue is addressed, using an electronic payment verification system.
Other details
- Because no insurance company recognizes this system, neither your doctor nor Sentire, LLC will bill insurance companies. You pay your family physician directly, like it used to be. You are responsible for submitting claims to the insurance companies.
- In office visits that require an unusually long conversation, you may be billed for the extra time required.
- You will be billed for the time your family physician is required to fill out forms, advocate for you with insurance companies, or any other time your family physician works on your behalf.
- There will be small fees – generally $3 per set – to manage lab results and chronic prescriptions. Your doctor will not bill you for time required to manage these results if an abnormality needs to be addressed or a prescription needs to be modified (sent to a different pharmacy, e.g.).
- Office procedures will be billed approximately at Medicare rates.
- The annual enrollment fee is $50 per patient. This fee will act as a trigger for your doctor to review and advise you on annual preventive services. This conversation can often occur over the phone.
